A receipt records what the house consulted and what it did not establish. The open state is part of the record, not a defect in it.

Putnam's Sons, MCMXXV (1925)license: public-domain (US: published 1925, pre-1930 — the MCMXXV title page verified from the scan itself; only the English rectos are served, Hicks's translation)pinned: ops/sources/books/Diogenes Laertius - Lives of Eminent Philosophers [II (Books 6-10, Loeb L185)].pdf sha256 d7db8379f7c65f2175ef14f805cae3cb693a376dad9568693849c74955d8ab1f (md5 cross-checked against the acquisition fetch log; see ops/sources/MANIFEST.md); extraction profile dl-loeb-v1 (ops/pipeline/); NOTE: the shelf file labeled '[I (Books 1-5, Loeb L184)]' is a second scan of this same volume (byte-identical text layer) — volume I is not on the shelf
  • Apparatus shelf — Suetonius, The Twelve Caesars (J. C. Rolfe translation; Dover republication)J. C. Rolfe, 1913 (preface dated Philadelphia, April 1913); Dover Publications republication, 2018license: public-domain (US: the served text is Rolfe's 1913 translation, pre-1930 — verified from the scan's own copyright and preface pages; Dover-era apparatus [2018 arrangement, introductions, endnotes, index, the Lives of Illustrious Men part] is not extracted and not served)pinned: ops/sources/books/Suetonius - The Lives of the Twelve Caesars [complete (single combined file)].pdf sha256 834ea47f51cd3bbebae50dc3283d412e2be175db903d9d6e5cc2c9027df30be6 (md5 cross-checked against the acquisition fetch log; see ops/sources/MANIFEST.md); extraction profile suet-dover-v1 (ops/pipeline/)
What this shows

Suetonius, The Twelve Caesars (Rolfe 1913; twelve lives as twelve works, 539 chapter-unit episodes, 124,898 tokens); Diogenes Laertius, Lives of Eminent Philosophers vol. II Books VI-X (Hicks 1925 Loeb; 338 page-unit episodes cited by the edition's own running-head section ranges, 94,143 tokens). Licenses verified from the scans' own title/copyright pages at STAGE 0 (pre-1930 US publications; later reprint apparatus excluded). Deterministic per-book extraction profiles (ops/pipeline/profile_*.py) with committed repair/strip logs: every OCR-repaired chapter marker and running head is flagged with its raw token; the two chapters the Dover/Rolfe edition itself omits (Tib. 43-44) are recorded, not fabricated. Episode membership rides episode.receipt_id = receipt:corpus-w6.

What this does not prove
  • The served text is each scan's OCR text layer (Dover 2018 retypeset scan; 2008 LuraDocument OCR of the 1925 Loeb) — character-level OCR errors ('Tue' for small-caps 'THE', 'lie' for 'He', stray endnote markers) are served as extracted, not proofread against the print.
  • The translations are the served voice (Rolfe 1913, Hicks 1925) — not the Latin or Greek originals; original_text is NULL (no alignment is fabricated).
  • Suetonius episodes follow the edition's printed chapter numerals with 6 neighbor-validated marker repairs and 1 frozen lost-marker boundary (all flagged in ops/corpus-staging/episodes-w6/suetonius.works.json); Tiberius 43-44 are absent because the edition omits them.
  • Diogenes Laertius episodes are PAGE-unit, cited by the Loeb's own running-head section ranges — not a section-unit segmentation; 87 OCR-damaged heads take their spans from clean neighbors (flagged), so isolated refs may be off by a section at the edges; Loeb footnotes are stripped by type-size/leading heuristics and a residual minority of pages retain footnote fragments.
  • Diogenes Laertius vol. I (Books I-V: Thales through Plato and the Academy) is NOT served — the shelf's file labeled vol. I is a duplicate scan of vol. II.
  • Episode token counts are whitespace word counts, not linguistic tokens.
