A receipt records what the house consulted and what it did not establish. The open state is part of the record, not a defect in it.
42episodes · 5figures
Pick list frozen before writing (ops/dossiers/W4_PICKLIST_2026-07-08.md); witnesses gathered from each figure's own attestation rows over the full post-W9 served record; written to the case-file protocol (ops/dossiers/WRITER_PROTOCOL.md v2 — the life, its witnesses, its dates, its disputes, its receipts); every double-quoted span verified verbatim against served episode_text by ops/pipeline/dossier_verify.mjs; every case file then judged by an independent hostile refuter (default-KILL) against the FULL gather record, repairs re-gated with fresh refuters; verdicts frozen in ops/dossiers/gate/w4_verdicts.json before staging.
What this does not prove- The case files are computed tellings, unreviewed by the founder; review_state says so on every row.
- sources_json lists the episodes the writer drew on — not every episode attesting the figure (the card catalog on the figure page carries the full attestation record).
- Quote verification proves each quoted span appears verbatim in a served witness episode — it does not prove the surrounding prose's emphasis or selection is the only fair reading.
- The served witnesses are English public-domain translations named on their work rows, not the ancient originals.
- The Alexander case file draws on Livy 9.17-19 under a frozen judged addition (W4_PICKLIST_2026-07-08.md); those episodes' attestation rows remain on the generic candidate figure:alexander until a future curation wave re-keys them.
