ἱστορίαι Historiai
Hdt. 5.2 The Histories, Herodotus; served verbatim
This, then, is what the Perinthians had previously suffered at the hands of the Paeonians. Now they fought like brave men for their liberty, but Megabazus and the Persians overcame them by weight of numbers. When Perinthus had been taken, Megabazus marched his army through Thrace, subduing to the king's will every city and every people of that region. For this, the conquest of Thrace, was the charge given him by Darius.

The Greek stands ready in the workroom; the English is served. Both faces will read together.
